Game Review: Eyes: The Horror Game

Hello and welcome to another game review! This one is another scary one! This is Eyes: The Horror Game!
Eyes: The Horror Game is a first-person indie survival horror game for iOS devices. In the game, you are a man on a heist mission. You must navigate the old mansion looking for 20 bags of cash. Once you have found them all, get to the exit. However, something is following you, hunting you. You can collect eyes on the wall to see what the creature sees. If the game tells you to run, oh my GOD you'd better run! If you get caught, the game is over.
This game is a lot like Slender: The 8 Pages, but I say it stands on it's own very well! This game makes you feel a different kind of horror. Instead of jumpscares from seeing Slender Man, this game gives you a feeling of dread. You feel very panicked and terrified when the game tells you to run, that you sometimes want to give up and let it get you. That is a lot scarier than Slender's jumpscares, in my opinion. The locations are very creepy, especially the basement, and they truly give you a feeling of claustrophobia everywhere you go, unlike in Slender, where the bathroom is the only claustrophobic location. There are lots of good hiding places, again, unlike Slender. If the furniture starts rattling and the screen says run, if you get your head together, (No pun intended, you would understand if you play the game.), the game always gives you a chance to hide. The sound design, like Slender, is very creepy in this game, especially the sound of children moaning! Shudder! Also, there is the sound of wind whistling inside the house. Awesome. The eye mechanic is very innovative, it gives you a chance to see how close the creature is to you so you can hide in advance. Now, the game is pretty easy to beat compared to Slender, but there are different levels of difficulty, so it won't get boring. There are lots of ads in the lite version of the game, which can bring you out of the creepy atmosphere, but they don't usually pop up during gameplay, so I guess the ads aren't a huge problem. Overall, this is a pretty fun horror game! It's scary and fun! If you want to play, it is free on the App Store, but that is the lite version, which doesn't allow you to enter certain rooms, making it easier to find money bags and harder to find hiding places. If you want the full version, it costs a buck. You can also get the full version as a free download for Mac and Windows from a few websites. It is very nice to play an iOS horror game that isn't just another crappy Slender: The 8 Pages fan-made spinoff! So, definitely try it out if you have an iOS device. I would recommend it for ages 12 and up because of the game's creepiness. Overall, this game gets 4 stars out of 5! Spoooooooooooooooooky!

Game Review: Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe

Hello my people! Welcome to another game review! This is the game that we will never speak of again. This is Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe!
Mortal Kombat is one of the greatest, (And bloodiest!), fighting game series of all time. It was the reason the ESRB rating system was created, and it inspired a short-lived MK cartoon series for children, (Yes, that was a thing.), an MK web-series, and 2 MK movies! This is the first and only crossover game in the MK series. No one seems to want to ever speak of this game again. Shao Kahn has been defeated, his evil plan to merge Outworld with Earthrealm foiled, his followers banished to Netherrealm. It seems like everyone in Earthrealm and Outworld can rest easy. There will never be another invasion of Earthrealm. OR WILL THERE???? New warriors have been spotted all over Earthrealm, a man dressed in a black bat suit, a man dressed like a red devil with a lightning bolt on his chest, a man who says he owns a company called "Lexcorp", Etc. Who are these new warriors? Do they work for Shao Kahn? Is Earthrealm merging with another world? Can our heroes stop the invasion? Play Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe to find out!
This game is really fun and really cool! It actually has a real story mode that you can play twice, one time from the MK character's point of view, and one time from the DC character's point of view. There is also an arcade mode that plays just like any classic MK game. The gameplay is fast paced and fun, with new mechanics introduced, like Free-Fall Kombat and Klose Kombat! The fatalities and brutalities are pretty cool, but hard to execute. Fatalities are always hard to perform in any MK game. The roster is a little small, but there are SO many MK and DC characters that it would be very hard to fit them all in, so I understand. The voice acting isn't fantastic, but it isn't bad. The graphics aren't great either, but they aren't bad. The story is a little bit hard to take seriously, which is probably why no one wants to ever mention this game again. However, the story isn't very important in a fighting game. If the game does have a good story, like in Injustice: Gods Among Us or Mortal Kombat (2011), great! If not, oh well! It doesn't really matter. Overall, this is a good game! It isn't great, and it certainly isn't the best the MK series has to offer, but it sure is a fun game! It doesn't matter if you are a Mortal Kombat fan, a DC fan, or are new to both, you should still like this game. I would recommend this game for ages 12 and up. This is one of the only MK games that is rated T, but there is still a lot of blood, (That you can turn off, if you want.), and the female fighters do have big boobs. I give this game a 3.9 stars out of 5! There isn't anything else to say but, MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Game Review: Marvel VS. Capcom 3: Fate Of 2 Worlds

Hello folks! I am here to talk about a really fun game! I had a lot of fun with the previous instalment, but this game blew my mind! This is Marvel VS. Capcom 3: Fate Of 2 Worlds!
This game is the 3rd and final instalment in the Marvel VS. Capcom series. It is a fighting game that includes Marvel super heroes and villains AND Capcom heroes and villains! An improved version was released afterward called Ultimate Marvel VS. Capcom 3, which added new characters and arenas. In Marvel VS. Capcom 3, the battle between the Marvel and Capcom universes is still going strong. However, Albert Wesker, Galactus, Dormamu, and Doctor Doom are threatening to end the war, by destroying both worlds! The Marvel characters and the Capcom characters must join forces to stop them. (While they compete against themselves for fun.) Will the villains destroy the universes, or will the heroes stop them? Play Marvel VS. Capcom 3 to find out!
This game is VERY fun! It has great and fast paced gameplay, and the roster is large! I'm a little disappointed that there are only 4 unlockable characters, MVC2 had a LOT more, but the starting roster in MVC3 is much larger than MVC2's starting roster, so it evens out I guess. I also wish a few characters were included in regular MVC3, because I really don't want to track down a copy of UMVC3 just to get those characters. (Nemesis, Phoenix Wright, Ghost Rider, Virgil, Strider, Rocket Raccoon, Etc.) My family had a hard enough time finding this darn game! It's pretty rare because Disney has banned distribution of it. Disney owns Marvel and they aren't getting any money with this game! Capcom could've just made some DLC characters instead of making an entirely new game. Anyway, each character has their own mini story in Arcade mode. They each have their own unique ending. The game has 3 on 3 battles, which I really like. You get to try out different characters at once, unlike other fighting games where you only choose one character. The special attacks are really cool! The dialogue and voice acting is pretty good, and I love the game's comic book style graphics! The game also has a good bit of humour, especially coming from Deadpool! This is just a great game! If you want to play it, you can get it for PS3, PSVita and X-Box 360, but you will have to look hard to get a copy. It's pretty rare by now. I would recommend it for ages 11 and up because there is a little bit of swearing in the game and some of the female characters are sexualized. Anyway, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars! Capcom fans and Marvel fans alike will love this game!

Game Review: Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale

Hi guys! Welcome to another game review! Do you love Super Smash Bros? Everyone seems to. I have played Brawl over at my friend's house a few times, and it's pretty fun. I've also played the original N64 version at a hotel! But I do not own a Nintendo console, so I cannot play it at home. HOWEVER, I DO own a PS3! You know what that means! If I can't play Smash Bros, I'll have to play Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale!
Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale was a game released in 2012 for the PS3 and PSVita so SONY could compete with Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series. The game is pretty much identical to Smash Bros, but there are still many differences. The game is a fighting game with famous Playstation characters instead of Nintendo characters. There are 20 characters to choose from. The game pretty much plays exactly like Smash Bros, except your special attacks are the only attacks that do any real damage. There is also no real story mode, only an Arcade mode where every character has a mini story. There really isn't much else to say! This game is Smash Bros, but with SONY characters. That's pretty much it.
This game is not perfect. It's pretty fun, but not perfect. The roster is a little bit too small. There are lots of missed opportunities for good characters. (Pyramid Head? Crash Bandicoot? Spyro? Rayman? Cloud? Wander? Lara Croft? The Prince? Sora? Abe? SOLID SNAKE???????? Etc.) Actually, Solid Snake probably wasn't in the game because he was over in Super Smash Bros. Brawl at the time. They replaced him with Raiden, which sucks because, as cool as he is, he isn't very iconic, not on the level of Solid Snake! They could've replaced Solid Snake with Big Boss instead. There IS DLC for this game that includes more characters, (Isaac Clarke, Zeus, Kat, and Emmet), but that just isn't enough. Abe from Oddworld and Dart from The Legend of Dragoon were planned to be released as DLC, but they were cancelled due to poor sales of the existing DLC and the game itself. Bummer. The special attacks only doing the real damage is not a very good idea. You have to hit your opponent to get your special bar filled so you can perform it, and then do it over again. It makes the game feel a little slow paced, which is not very good for a fighting game. The opening and closing cutscenes of Arcade mode are not FMV, they are just still images, which seems really cheap and lazy on SONY's part. And finally, this game is one big commercial. For example, DMC: Devil May Cry wasn't out yet when this game was released, but the new Dante is a fighter in the game! Bioshock Infinite wasn't out yet, but Columbia appeared as an arena in the game! Etc. I have to hand it to SONY, this was a clever way to advertise their new games coming out! It seems like I'm only talking about the bad things, but there are a lot of good things about this game too! The graphics are pretty nice, and the voice acting is pretty good. The soundtrack is very cool as well! I also like that Playstation's original mascot, Polygon Man, was the final boss! I think it is always so cool when companies remember their forgotten characters. Overall, I can't say that this is a bad game. I had a lot of fun with it, despite it's flaws. No, it isn't perfect, and it certainly isn't better than Super Smash Bros, but if you don't own a Nintendo console, like me, this isn't a bad alternative! Just lower your expectations a little bit. If you do, I'm sure you'll enjoy this game! I would recommend it for ages 10 and up because there is one female character that is scantily clad and there is a little bit of swearing in the game. I'd give it 3.6 stars out of 5! A good little game!

Game Review: Thinking With Time Machine

Hi guys! I'm here to talk about another Portal game! Yay! This is Thinking With Time Machine!
Thinking With Time Machine is a fan-made mod for Portal 2, released earlier this year. It is sort of a fan-made sequel. At the end of Portal 2, GLaDOS finally lets Chell go, and releases her into the wild. Chell is free. OR IS SHE????? It turns out it was all a simulation! Chell isn't out of Aperture yet, she needs to do more tests to get out! Not from GLaDOS, but from Atlas and P-Body, the 2 little robots from Portal 2's multiplayer mode. Chell must use portals and a time machine to solve puzzles! The time machine can record her doing a task, and then play it back, so Chell can solve puzzles with help from herself! Will Chell ever get out of Aperture for real, or is this all her life will ever be, testing? Play Thinking With Time Machine to find out!
This game is soooo good! It is a fan-made mod, so unfortunately it isn't canon, but that's alright! The gameplay is great and the graphics are very good! This seems like a game VALVE actually could've made! Now on with the negatives. The game is very short. It's only about 9 test chambers long, so you could easily finish it in one play session.  The story also doesn't come to a close, which is a shame! I would've loved to see Atlas and P-Body again! There isn't a lot of humour in this game, or much music, so it can feel like the game is missing something. There isn't even any developers commentary or voices guiding you through the tests! There are no Easter Eggs in this game, and there aren't any multiplayer test chambers, giving this game no replay value. There are community test chambers, though, so I guess we have that. There weren't any turrets, tractor beams, or gels in this game, which sucks, but there is another mod coming out called Aperture Tag that will be centred around gels, so hopefully that will fill the void. Overall, this is a good game, but lower you expectations. This game is no Portal 3, but you should have fun with it for an afternoon! This game is good for ages 9 and up just because the game is VERY challenging! If you want to try it out, it is free on Steam, but you need to own Portal 2 on Steam to play this game. I did have a lot of fun with this game! I would give it a 3.7 out of 5! A very short, but memorable experience!

Game Review: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD

Hello fellow gamers! Today I will talk about probably my new favourite game! It's weird, it isn't even really a game! This is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD!
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD is an app for iOS devices that includes the first 3 games in the Ace Attorney series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice For All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations, originally released in Japan for the Game Boy Advance by CAPCOM and brought to North America as Nintendo DS games. In the game, you play as Phoenix Wright, a young lawyer. You must interrogate witnesses, investigate crime scenes, and present the right evidence in court to find your client not guilty!
This is a great game! All the characters are likeable, the humour is good, the stories are engaging, (There are 4 or 5 short stories in each game.), and the gameplay is innovative! If you can even call it that, it's mostly reading. Which I love! There is also a neat feature called "Everyone Object!", where you can choose a lawyer character, make them say something, and send it to a friend as a gif! That is pretty neat, but there is hardly any space to write anything, leaving a lot less opportunities for things that they could say. Oh well, I still sent gifs to almost everyone I know! Now on with the negatives. While the HD looks great on the characters and environments, you can really see the detail, I can't say the same about the menus. The menus actually look worse than the DS version. While the resolution is higher, the way the menus work is a huge downgrade from the DS version. They are pretty ugly and they don't work as good as the original version. However, the worst thing about this game is the bugs, which there are a lot of. The bugs can make the game difficult to play at times, but the internet will be glad to help if you get stuck. The app came out a few years ago, so I don't think we will be getting a fix from CAPCOM. They are too busy making bad Resident Evil games, cancelling Megaman games, and ripping people off with day one DLC! The bugs aren't a huge problem, they are just a nuisance. Overall, this is a great game! It isn't perfect, and it certainly isn't as good as it's DS counterparts, but if you are someone who doesn't own a Nintendo console, like me, this is not a bad alternative! Now, there is another app called "Phoenix Wright", which is just a perfect port of the first game, with no bugs and the same graphics as the DS version. That app is great too, but I'd recommend this one because it includes all the games. The bugs are a small price to pay! If you are the owner of an iOS device, check this game out! It's a free download, but you only get the first 2 stories of the first game. You can buy the rest via an in-app purchase at a reasonable price. It will also become available for the Nintendo 3DS sometime in the future. Maybe THEN we will get a fix! So, yeah. Try it out! I would recommend it for ages 11 and up because there is blood, violence, and swearing in the game. There are a few sexual innuendo jokes and some of the female characters have big boobs. I would give it 3.8 stars out of 5! I definitely have no more objections about this game!

Have you played Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD? What did you think if it? Tell me in the comments!

Classic Game Review: Dragon's Lair

Hi guys! Welcome to another game review! In this new segment, I will review classic video games from the olden days of gaming. This is a game unlike any other, because, well, it isn't even really a game! This is Dragon's Lair!

Dragon's Lair was an arcade game in the '80s developed by legendary animator Don Bluth, the director of great animated films such as The Small One, Banjo the Woodpile Cat, The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, An American Tail, All Dogs Go To Heaven, and Anastasia. He's even the director of not-so-great animated films such as Rock-A-Doodle, Thumbelina, The Pebble and the Penguin, Titan A.E., and A Troll In Central Park! Dragon's Lair was his first video game. It was so successful that it spawned 2 sequels, Space Ace, which was a Sci-Fi adventure, and Dragon's Lair 2: Timewarp, a very strange official sequel to Dragon's Lair. Dragon's Lair even has 2 full 3-D platforming adventures, Dragon's Lair 3-D and Dragon's Lair 3 (Not an official sequel!), for the PC, X-Box, and the Playstation 2. Many versions and ports have been made of Dragon's Lair and Space Ace over the years. They are mostly horrible. However, none of these sequels were even nearly as successful as the original Dragon's Lair! In the game, you play as Dirk the Daring, a brave knight exploring the Dragon's castle to rescue the fair Princess Daphne. In the castle, Dirk must face the dangers inside to get to the centre of the castle and the Dargon's lair. Can Dirk the Daring rescue Princess Daphne from the dragon? Play Dragon's Lair to find out!
The story of this game is absolutely nothing special. It is just your basic Hero saves Princess from Dragon story. However, the gameplay of this game is some of the most innovative and fun I've ever seen! This game is entirely in hand-drawn animation, so the game is centred around pressing the right button at the right time. (BTW, this was the first game ever to have FMV, which is Full Motion Video, leading the way for all video game cutscenes to come. You have this game to thank, Metal Gear Solid 3!) You need to have sharp and quick reflexes to play this game. This game is very difficult, but fair. It tells you what button you need to press so if you screw up, it's all your fault. This game is not super long, you could beat it all in probably under an hour, but Dragon's Lair is a great and fun experience. If you want to try it or it's sequels, they are 5 bucks each on iPhone and 10 bucks each on Steam. You can also get these games on DVD, Blu-Ray, PS3, Wii, and X-Box 360! I had a lot of fun with this game! I'll give it 4 stars out of 5! A short, excellent experience!

Have you played Dragon's Lair? What did you think of it? Tell me in the comments!
